Background:
- We must stay focus
- We need to focus on the right kind of things
- We need to think about operating in God's will
Key Sermon Points:
1. Do not allow fear to shift the focus from God
- Fear can paralyze our faith
- Fear can steal our joy
- Fear can lead to negative activity
- We shouldn't allow fear to shift our focus from God
- Whatever God has promised to us, we got to hold on to it
- We have to shift our attention to God's promises
- We have to read, pray, worship, and have courage
2. Identify fearful people and avoid their lack of faith
- God identifies fearful people with Gideon and told the fearful ones to go home (Judges 7:2-4)
3. How do you perceive yourself?
- If we look through our own eyes we'll see something different from what God sees
- Sometimes our vision is impaired because God sees from a spiritual lens
- The way that we perceive ourselves is how others will perceive us
- What is your giant today that is holding you in fear?
- Too many times we see the Giants and think we have to settle rather than going to God to handle the situation.
- We need to give it to God because there is nothing that God cannot handle
- We have to admit that we have a problem
- We must be intentional this year
- If we want to change something, we must change what were doing
