Services

SunDAY: 9 AM Sunday School, 10:30AM Worship /TuesDAY 6 pm prayer/ WedNESDAY 6PM Bible study

Mar. 23, 2025

Background:

  • There are people who believe that without embracing Jesus they will enter into Heaven
  • Jesus is preparing a place in Heaven only for his followers (John 14:1-4)
  • In order to have the glimpse that you need you must embrace your Lord and savior
  • There are three who have entered into heaven and not died Enoch( Genesis 5:24; Hebrews 11:5) Elijah( 2 Kings 2:1-2,11), and Jesus
  • Paul was caught in the spirit and caught a glimpse of heaven ( 2 Corinthians 12:2-6)
  • John gets a glimpse of Heaven (Revelation 4)

Key Sermon Points:

1. John sees an open door

  • Most of the time God has opened doors for us and we missed it because we have not been connected to God right
  • Our connection with God in our prayer life and our devotion is not right and we can not see the open door
  • If we are looking to be used by God we can not operate in the flesh but in the spirit (Romans 8:8)

2. John gets an invitation from Jesus to come up to heaven

  • The voice that invites John to heaven is Jesus
  • Jesus promised to show John some things that will take place after this

3. What things did John see in heaven?

  • He sees  thrones ( mentioned 14 times)
  • John sees a symbol of Gods sovereign rule and authority
  • The Holy Spirit takes John and he is immediately transported into Heaven and he sees God seated on the throne looking like a jasper
  • Jasper was like a diamond clear and white representing purity and glory
  • Red stone represents the sacrifice and the blood shed on Calvary
  • John saw a rainbow that was not an arc but a complete circle and the color of emerald
  • In Heaven everything is complete
  • Usually the rainbow appears after the storm but John saw it before the storm
  • God cannot lie and He is always faithful when we are not
  • The rainbow represents God's mercy and faithfulness to His word
  • The 24 Elders are not angles and not the tribe of the old testament
  • They represent the church age saints:
  • The praise on their lips (Revelation 5:8-9)
  • The clothes they wear (Revelation 19:7-9)
  • The crowns upon their heads (Revelation 4:4)
  • The lightening represents judgment
  • Seven spirits represents completion
  • A sea of glass that likely represents God's purity and symbolizes a restless place where we do not need to worry about crime or corruption and will not be disturbed with wickedness
  • The four creatures represent angels who are guardians of the throne of God ( Ezekiel 10:14-17 & Isaiah 6:1-3)

4. Praise and worship

  • They are not at the throne doing not but they are praising their Lord and Savior, giving him glory and honor
  • They are saying God is Holy, God is here to stay forever, God is never going to leave
  • Not only were the angels praising God but so were the elders

5. John is in the Spirit

  • John must enter into the spiritual realm
  • John said that everything God created ought to praise Him
  • We ought to praise Him and worship
  • Every now and then we ought to praise Him for all he has brought us through and still continues to bless us
  • It does not cost us anything to praise God
  • Some of us will get healed and others will get enough grace to get by each day
