Key Sermon Points:

1. Jesus predicts the destruction of the temple (vs 1 - 2)

• The disciples were excited to show the temple to Jesus
• But Jesus let them know that the temple was no longer God's house (Matthew 21:13; Matthew 23:38)
• For those that give their lives to Jesus, our body is a temple of God (2 Corinthians 6:16)

2. The disciples ask the three questions we all want to know  (vs 3)

• When will the appointed time be?
• No one will know but God (Acts 1:6-7)

3. The signs of the time (vs. 6-8)

• We will hear of wars and rumors of wars
• Nation against nation
• Famines and earthquakes
• Pestilence and diseases
• Nobody will know the time, not even the angels (Matthew 24:36)

4. The suffering servants (vs. 9-12)

• It will get really rough
• We may not face persecution in the US but many will suffer in other countries
• We suffer in many ways: sickness, death of loved ones, finances, gun violence, etc.

5. What must we do (vs. 13-14)

• He who endures to the end will be saved
• We must go and share the gospel
• Now is the time to spread the good news
• Sharing our testimony of how we came to Christ
• If we suffer, let it be for righteousness sake for Christ
