Services

SunDAY: 9 AM Sunday School, 10:30AM Worship /TuesDAY 6 pm prayer/ WedNESDAY 6PM Bible study

Nov. 23, 2025

Background:

  • We should come before God with a positive attitude, which allows God to use us
  • Joseph had a positive attitude and God turned his situation around
  • God can turn our situations around as well (Psalm 95:2)
  • We ought to have a positive attitude for all that God has and is doing for us
  • There are 7 commandments in Psalm 100, including making a joyful shout

Key Sermon Points:

1. A call to praise the Lord

  • We ought to shout joyfully unto the Lord
  • We ought to come into the House of the Lord with the attitude of worship
  • We ought to come with the mindset of serving our King
  • It's a call to declare allegiance with God
  • We ought to automatically praise God with excitement without being pushed to do so
  • All nations must be brought before the Lord before they can rightly praise Him
  • We have to know Him for ourselves before we can praise Him
  • We are to make a joyful shout
  • Worship and serve the Lord with gladness
  • Worship means to serve...to minister to the Lord with our praise
  • Rejoice because we know that God loves us
  • Worship is not just a setting, but an event where people are excited and don't need to be pumped up
  • We ought to come with expectation of a blessing
  • We cannot worship the Lord without our emotions
  • The Sovereign God of the universe invites us to worship Him
  • Know that the Lord is God
  • If you are not serving Jesus, then you are not serving the same God
  • We can't get to God the Father until we accept the Son Jesus who died for us
  • We must know who we are serving
  • God has made us and not we ourselves
  • God wants a relationship with us and we need to recognize that
  • God cannot love us any more or any less because of his unconditional love (agape love)
  • God loves us enough to call out our sins
  • We are not sinless, but should sin less

2. A call to thank the Lord

  • Enter into His gates with thanksgiving
  • We come with the attitude of gratitude for all that You have done and will do
  • We must come into the gates and be ready for worship (mind, worship, our everything)
  • We must come with the right attitude to praise our Lord and Savior
  • We are to thank Him for EVERYTHING, including keeping us
  • When we are really thankful, we will get low enough to worship the Lord (prostrate ourselves)
  • Be thankful to God
  • Give thanks to God and praise His name
  • Thankfulness ought to be a prime characteristics of a Christian's life
  • When someone goes out of their way to  bless you & to do something for you, you ought to say "Thank you"
  • We have to mean our thankfulness to God
  • Take some time to think about ALL that God has done for us
  • Never forget what God has done for us, where He has brought us from, or what He has delivered us from
  • We are to bless and celebrate God's name and all of His attributes and faithfulness through all generations
  • We ought to praise Him
  • Praise is giving thanks to God for who He is
  • We ought to praise Him (Psalm 148)
  • It not ought to take a season or a holiday to thank the Lord, but it ought to be everyday
