Services

SunDAY: 9 AM Sunday School, 10:30AM Worship /TuesDAY 6 pm prayer/ WedNESDAY 6PM Bible study

Nov. 24, 2024

Background:

  • When you come to the sanctuary what do you anticipate when you get here?
  • We ought to come ready to serve Him and praise Him
  • How would you feel if your son or daughter would ask you for something all the time but never say Thank You?
  • We are not teaching our children how to say thank you or have proper manners
  • We as parents have a responsibility to raise our children up right (Ephesians 6:1-4)
  • It is instructions to teach our children what is right (Proverbs 4:1-4)
  • It is our responsibility to teach our children to be thankful

Key Sermon Points:

  1. We should have the attitude of gratitude
    • We ought to be able to say Thank You Lord
    • It is a regular/habitual appreciation for all that God has done no matter how big or small
    • Praise and giving thanks should be done each and every day not just on Thanksgiving
    • When we enter the house of the Lord our mind and our spirits ought to be ready to praise the Lord
    • We need to get rid of the fleshly thoughts and desires and come ready to serve Him
    • We can never say Thank You enough to our parents, friends, leaders and especially to God
    • We do not want to be like the unrighteous (Romans 1:21)
    • There is no excuse why people do not know there is a God
    • God is angry with people who are not faithful
  2. We should remember what God has done
    • We should not take God's protection for granted
    • God kept the Israelites for 40 years and none of their shoes and clothing wore out (Deuteronomy 8:4)
    • Remember to seek God everyday of our lives
    • A life without God can lead to a bitter, lonely, and hopeless old age
    • A life centered around God is fulfilling
    • Places and things get old but God remains the same and fulfills ALL of our needs
    • Only God has put that yearning in your spirit that can be fulfilled by Him
    • We should start praising while we are young (Ecclesiastes 12:1)
  3. Telling others about God's great blessings
    • If God has done something for you, TELL IT!
    • Brag on God, not you (1 Corinthians 1:31)
    • Share about God has made a great impact on your life
    • Share on what God has brought us from
    • Go tell why you have chosen Him to be your Savior
    • Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to you
    • We need to tell other about His steadfast kindness
    • God is a provider
    • God showers us with His blessings
    • God protects us from seen and unseen dangers
    • We can call God anytime and He will answer
